Canada

Art shows in Canada are going through a bit of a change, with an emphasis more on artisan crafts and a regional flavour. There is a vibrant art scene in Toronto, with many art shows happening there. But other major cities such as Vancouver, Ottawa, Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta and Edmonton, also host art fairs.

Below is a collection of major Canadian art shows in 2019.

The display is held at the Enercare Centre Exhibition Place, with exhibitions by 800 artists and artisans. There will be workshops, craft demonstrations, and activities for children, as well as plenty of entertainment and food.

This event takes place at Willistead Manor and Park, with 275 exhibitors from across Ontario and Quebec. It is one of Ontario’s most significant outdoor art and craft fairs and is set on a fifteen and a half acre site, surrounding the beautiful and historical Willistead Manor.

57th Toronto Outdoor Art Fair, from 6th to 8th July

Nathan Phillips Square will be filled with artworks, by 340 artists from all over Canada. There are plenty of special programs planned to take place over the three days of the fair. Visitors will have the opportunity to discover fresh talents in the students’ zone, and immerse themselves into the works of accomplished artists, some of whom return to the event frequently. One of Toronto’s most famous design artists, Tiffany Pratt, will share her love of art, in her talk ‘Art Before Dishes’, which will be followed by a book signing. There will be art tours, nested exhibitions and adventures in photo darkrooms. The children’s program will include exciting workshops and a special collecting program for young art lovers.

Muskoka Arts & Crafts Summer Show, from 20th to 22nd July

For three days, around 200 artists and artisans from across Canada, will exhibit their work at the Annie Williams Memorial park, on the corner of Santa’s Village Road and Wellington Street, in Bracebridge, Ontario.

Huronia Festival of Arts & Crafts, from 3rd to 5th August

This Festival is a significant part of the Kempenfest, which is held annually on the beautiful shore of Kempenfelt Bay. The Art show will be held at the Centennial Park in Barrie, Ontario.
